Rebuilding a boutique hotel's website for direct bookings
A BVI hotel group whose ageing website was slow on mobile, invisible to AI assistants and pushing guests towards commission-heavy third-party channels. We rebuilt it as a fast, mobile-first, structured site and now maintain it under a monthly care plan.

The challenge
The existing site had been built years earlier for desktop visitors. On a phone over a Caribbean mobile network its heavy, uncompressed photography took many seconds to become usable, and the booking route required several taps that most visitors never completed.
Because nothing on the site was structured — no schema, no clear factual descriptions of rooms, location or policies — search engines and AI assistants were describing the property from third-party listings rather than from the hotel itself, including details that were out of date.
What we did
- We rebuilt the site around the two questions guests actually ask first: what is it like, and can I book the dates I want. Photography was retained but delivered in modern formats at multiple sizes, with only the hero image preloaded.
- Content was rewritten answer-first, so each page opens with a clear factual statement a search engine or AI assistant can quote, followed by the persuasive material a human wants.
- We added full structured data for the property, rooms, location and frequently asked questions, and made the enquiry and booking routes reachable from any page in one tap.
- The site moved to off-island edge hosting with automated, tested backups, and is now maintained under a monthly management plan covering monitoring, patching, content updates and quarterly health checks.
Outcomes
- Substantially faster load times on mobile, with the page becoming usable in a fraction of the previous time
- A single, unambiguous route from any page to a direct booking enquiry
- Accurate property facts now published in a machine-readable form rather than inferred from third-party listings
- Continuity risk reduced through off-island hosting and tested backups ahead of hurricane season
- Content changes now made same-day by the Phoenix Caribbean team rather than queued for a developer
Outcomes are described qualitatively. We publish performance figures only where a client has reviewed and approved the specific numbers; named references are available on request.

A cyber security review for an offshore corporate services firm
A professional services firm handling high-value client transactions asked for an honest assessment of its exposure after a near-miss invoice fraud attempt. We reviewed posture against the Cyber Essentials controls, prioritised remediation and trained the team.
Getting a marine charter operator into AI answers as well as Google
A charter business whose overseas customers increasingly begin their research by asking an AI assistant rather than searching. We built a combined SEO and generative engine optimisation programme so the operator is both ranked and quoted.
